About this project
CBL-001-02 is the first BCarbon-certified methane well-plugging carbon project in Canada, developed by Crbon Labs near Rainbow Lake, Alberta. Located on Dene Tha’ First Nations Treaty and Traditional Lands, the project permanently eliminates methane emissions by sealing abandoned oil and gas wells that would otherwise leak greenhouse gases. By preventing fugitive methane releases and restoring well sites, the project generates high-integrity voluntary carbon credits while supporting environmental protection and responsible land stewardship.
