About this project
Brascarbon Methane Recovery is a Verra-registered carbon project in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, covering swine farms that replace open manure lagoons with covered anaerobic biodigesters and flaring systems. The project captures and destroys methane generated from animal waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions under methodology AMS-III.D. It also improves wastewater treatment, reduces odors and insects, lowers contamination risks, and supports more sustainable livestock production with environmental co-benefits.
