    Pre-validation

The project has been designed and documented but has not yet been validated by a third-party auditor

Why pre-validation matters for carbon credit buyers

Pre-validation is the earliest project stage: design is complete but no auditor has yet approved it. Buying at this stage usually means forward agreements at lower prices, in exchange for delivery risk: the project may change or fail validation. It suits buyers who want to fund new capacity and can tolerate uncertainty.
