About this project
Azuero Reforestación Collectiva (ARC) I is a 10,000-hectare, 100- year, biodiverse reforestation project located in the Azuero Peninsula. Planting over 6 million trees from 75+ native species, the project restores nature and biodiversity, and delivers $70+ million in benefits to local communities over 30 years. Beyond carbon sequestration, ARC I is the only ARR project in the world selected as a pilot for Verra's SD VISta Nature Framework, setting standards for biodiversity credits in the VCM. Nature is at the heart of the project from insect arthropods and primates to watersheds and soil health. Ponterra is a fully vertically integrated organisation that generates ultra high quality carbon credits across Latin America.
